G4 was the pioneering TV network from the early 2000’s that was the first of its kind to break into the video game space, bringing with it an irreverent humor that viewers nostalgically longed for long after the network went off the air in 2012. With the current uptick in the popularity of gaming, G4 relanched determined to reconnect with a new generation of gamers while still capturing the charm of its roots. The result is a trippy campaign that is not afraid to test its limits.

The G4 “glyph” created lots of fun opportunities to play with a type of portal that was a central design element for the relaunch campaign. The portal became the way that all of the wackiness from the world of G4 could spill forth from.

With G4 being a gaming-focused channel, the motion frames were designed to capture the glitchy, pixel-driven aesthetic that would compliemnt the G4 glyph, while still having a broadcast-friendly modularity.
